I figured we (meaning the large Imperial we) were being punk'd by Charlie Sheen. My guess is that Charlie wants to get out of his CBS contract and has some sort of great idea for a new gig. However, he doesn't want to wait to start his new gig, so he decided to channel the spirit of the recently dead Dennis Hopper to freak out his former bosses.
It worked. As soon and he was axed, he got really funny with reasonably high production values and exclusive on Funny or Die(tm), Will Farrell and Adam McCay's production company.
Prediction; we find out he has a new gig complete with a big buck payout, he get reunited with his kids and his former employers look like fools.
He really is that good an actor. Shame he won't win an Oscar(tm) for this one.
