The latest on the French Riots

From The Beeb:
At least 1,400 vehicles have been burnt out and 395 people arrested in France's latest rioting, while the unrest has apparently claimed its first fatality.
The interesting piece comes later in the story, and concerns a fatwa issue by the local iman, eseentially telling the rioters to stop:
"It is strictly forbidden for any Muslim... to take part in any action that strikes blindly at private or public property or that could threaten the lives of others," the fatwa by the Union of Islamic Organisations in France said.
Okay, so the local religous leaders say "stop" and nobody listens. Then, who exactly are the rioters listening to?

And France's neighbors are worried, thinking this might spread. From AFP:

British Prime Minister Tony Blair has voiced his concern at the wave of urban unrest rocking French cities, as France's European neighbours kept a wary eye for any sign the violence may cross borders....

Five cars were torched in a working-class area of the German capital Berlin overnight, which police said may have been an attempt to copy the violence in France.

There was also a second straight night of incidents in the northern German port city of Bremen where seven metal containers were set alight 24 hours after several cars and a disused building were burned.

Imagine an Islamic French with nuclear arsenal and a jihadi mindset...
